Amish hamburger steak bake with a creamy sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into patties.
- Brown the patties in a skillet over medium heat.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and milk.
- Place the patties in a baking dish and pour the soup mixture over them.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked through.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
- Can substitute cream of chicken soup if desired.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
