Description
A traditional Scottish meat pie filled with minced meat and spices.
Ingredients

- 500g minced lamb
- 250g minced beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 300g shortcrust pastry
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a pan, sauté the onion until soft.
- Add the minced lamb and beef, cooking until browned.
- Stir in the spices and seasonings.
- Roll out the pastry and cut into circles.
- Place a spoonful of meat mixture in the center of each circle.
- Fold the pastry over and seal the edges.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Let the pies cool slightly before serving.
- Can be served with mashed potatoes or gravy.
