These Bakery-Size Orange Scone Cookies are fluffy and packed with a citrus flavor.

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons orange juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In another bowl, combine the heavy cream, egg, orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a circle about 1 inch thick.
- Cut the circle into 8 wedges and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth. Drizzle over the warm cookies.
