A delicious banana upside down cake that combines the sweetness of ripe bananas with a moist cake base.

- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
- Add banana slices and cook for 2 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into a greased cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine milk and egg, then add to the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter over the bananas in the pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for better flavor.
- Serve warm with whipped cream.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
