- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (like parsley and chives)
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add cheddar cheese and herbs to the flour mixture.
- Pour in buttermilk and stir until just combined.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Shape into a round loaf and place on a baking sheet.
- Cut a cross on top of the loaf.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing.
