Delicious Chicago-style apple slices with a flaky crust and sweet apple filling.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4–5 tablespoons cold water
- 3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add chilled butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in cold water until dough forms.
- Roll out half of the dough and place in a baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and lemon juice.
- Spread the apple mixture over the dough in the baking dish.
- Roll out the remaining dough and place over the apple filling.
- Seal the edges and cut slits on top for ventilation.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Use tart apples for best flavor.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
