Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes and remove from pans.
  9. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  10. Place one cake layer on a serving plate, spread whipped cream on top.
  11. Add the second layer and frost the top and sides with chocolate frosting.
