Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll into bites.
  7. Boil water and baking soda in a pot.
  8. Drop pretzel bites into the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  9. Remove and place on a baking sheet.
  10. Brush with melted butter and mix sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle on top.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
