A traditional recipe for fruitcake packed with dried fruits and nuts.
Ingredients

- 2 cups mixed dried fruits
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup brandy
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Grease and line a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix dried fruits and nuts.
- In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Add orange juice and brandy, then fold in the fruit and nut mixture.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to a month.
- Can be made a few weeks in advance for better flavor.
- Add your favorite dried fruits for a personal touch.
