Ingredients

- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 package of puff pastry
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until thickened.
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the hot milk mixture into the egg yolks.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook for another minute.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted.
- Roll out the puff pastry and place in a baking dish.
- Pour the custard mixture over the pastry.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it cool before slicing.
