Description

A rich and creamy dessert combining the flavors of eggnog with a classic creme brulee.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 5 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and eggnog over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. Whisk the egg yolks and granulated sugar in a bowl until pale.
  4. Gradually add the hot cream mixture to the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and nutmeg, then mix well.
  6. Pour the mixture into ramekins.
  7. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill the dish with hot water halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until set.
  9. Let cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  10. Before serving, sprinkle brown sugar on top and caramelize with a kitchen torch.
