A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich with French onion flavor.
Ingredients

- 2 slices of bread
- 1 cup of caramelized onions
- 2 slices of Gruyere cheese
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
Instructions
- Caramelize the onions in a pan over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in a skillet.
- Add caramelized onions and cheese on top.
- Sprinkle thyme over the cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Cook until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side.

- Use sourdough or whole grain bread for added flavor.
- Adjust the amount of onions based on preference.
