- 1 large egg

- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water until tender.
- Drain and let them cool slightly.
- Mash the potatoes until smooth.
- Add flour, egg, salt, and nutmeg to the mashed potatoes.
- Knead the mixture until combined.
- Form the dough into balls.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
- Drop the dumplings into the boiling water.
- Cook until they float to the surface, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and serve hot.
Notes
- Use starchy potatoes for best results.
- Serve with gravy or sautéed onions.
- You can add herbs for extra flavor.
