A classic gingersnap cookie recipe that is easy to follow and delicious.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add molasses and egg to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Shape the dough into small balls and roll in granulated sugar.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm.
- Let cool on a wire rack.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- For a spicier cookie, add more ginger.
- Can substitute brown sugar for granulated sugar.
