Ingredients

- 500g beef, diced
- 250g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add beef and brown on all sides.
- Add mushrooms, carrots, and cook until softened.
- Stir in flour, then add broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 20 minutes until thickened.
- Transfer the filling to a pie dish.
- Cover with puff pastry and seal the edges.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Let the pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or a side salad.
