Ingredients

  • 250g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add beef and brown on all sides.
  5. Add mushrooms, carrots, and cook until softened.
  6. Stir in flour, then add broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
  8. Simmer for 20 minutes until thickened.
  9. Transfer the filling to a pie dish.
  10. Cover with puff pastry and seal the edges.
  11. Brush with beaten egg.
  12. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
