This homemade butter recipe allows you to make fresh butter easily at home.

- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
Instructions
- Pour the heavy cream into a mixing bowl.
- Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the cream on medium speed until it thickens.
- Continue mixing until the butterfat separates from the buttermilk.
- Drain the buttermilk and rinse the butter under cold water.
- Add salt if desired and mix well.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Make sure the cream is at room temperature for best results.
- You can flavor the butter with herbs or garlic if you like.
- Use the buttermilk in baking or pancakes.
