Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 package pie crusts
  • 1 egg, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  3. Add beef, onion, carrots, and garlic. Cook until beef is browned.
  4. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and rosemary.
  6. Simmer for 1 hour until beef is tender.
  7. Roll out pie crusts and line a pie dish.
  8. Fill with the beef mixture.
  9. Cover with another pie crust and seal edges.
  10. Brush with egg wash.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Let the pie cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Can be made a day in advance and reheated.
