Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add chicken pieces, cook until browned.
  4. Stir in gochugaru, soy sauce, and salt.
  5. Add onion, carrots, and potatoes. Mix well.
  6. Pour in water to cover ingredients.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  8. Add green onions before serving.

  • Adjust spice level by varying gochugaru.
