Description
Kreatopita is a traditional Greek meat pie filled with minced meat and spices.
Ingredients

- 500g minced meat
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 sheets of phyllo pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté onions and garlic until soft.
- Add minced meat, salt, pepper, oregano, and cinnamon. Cook until meat is browned.
- Remove from heat and stir in feta cheese.
- Layer one sheet of phyllo pastry in a greased baking dish.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly over the pastry.
- Cover with the second sheet of phyllo pastry.
- Brush the top with beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Let the pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
