Description
Menchi katsu is a Japanese dish made of ground meat, usually pork or beef, breaded and deep-fried.
Ingredients
Scale
- 300g ground pork
- 200g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 egg
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a pan, heat sesame oil and sauté onions and garlic until soft.
- In a bowl, mix ground pork, ground beef, sautéed onions and garlic, soy sauce, sake, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Coat each patty in panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry each patty until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve with tonkatsu sauce.
Notes
- Serve with shredded cabbage.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
- Can be baked instead of fried for a healthier option.
