Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.

  3. Gradually mix in flour until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces.
  8. Shape each piece into a stick and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Let the breadsticks rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
