Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
  3. Stir in pecans and pour mixture into the bottom of a cake pan.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. In another bowl, beat together granulated sugar, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla.
  6. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  7. Pour batter over the pecan mixture in the pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate to serve.
