- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- In another bowl, combine oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla, and peppermint extract.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until well combined.
- Pour the batter into greased cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.
Notes
- Use cream cheese frosting for added flavor.
- You can add crushed peppermint candies on top for decoration.
