Description
A rich and sweet spread made with apples and salted caramel.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups of peeled and chopped apples
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a pot, combine apples, sugar, brown sugar, water, and cinnamon.
- Cook over medium heat until apples soften, about 20 minutes.
- Blend the mixture until smooth.
- Return to the pot and add salt, cream, and vanilla.
- Simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cool and transfer to jars.
Notes
- Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- Use on toast, pancakes, or as a filling for pastries.
