Soft Baked Cheesy Pretzel Dogs are a delicious twist on classic hot dogs, wrapped in soft pretzel dough and topped with cheese.


Ingredients

  • Hot dogs – 8 pieces
  • All-purpose flour – 4 cups
  • Warm water – 1 1/2 cups
  • Yeast – 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • Brown sugar – 1/4 cup
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda – 1/2 cup
  • Shredded cheese – 1 cup
  • Egg – 1, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and brown sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add flour and salt. Knead the dough until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough and wrap it around each hot dog.
  6. Boil water and baking soda in a pot.
  7. Dip each wrapped dog into the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  8. Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle with salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Sprinkle cheese on top and return to oven for 2-3 minutes.
