Description
Soft Baked Cheesy Pretzel Dogs are a delicious twist on classic hot dogs, wrapped in soft pretzel dough and topped with cheese.
Ingredients
- Hot dogs – 8 pieces
- All-purpose flour – 4 cups
- Warm water – 1 1/2 cups
- Yeast – 2 1/4 teaspoons
- Brown sugar – 1/4 cup
- Salt – 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda – 1/2 cup
- Shredded cheese – 1 cup
- Egg – 1, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and brown sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and salt. Knead the dough until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and wrap it around each hot dog.
- Boil water and baking soda in a pot.
- Dip each wrapped dog into the boiling water for 30 seconds.
- Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Sprinkle cheese on top and return to oven for 2-3 minutes.
