Ingredients

  • 100g golden syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a pudding basin with butter.
  3. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  5. Stir in the flour and milk alternately.
  6. Add vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  7. Pour golden syrup into the bottom of the pudding basin.
  8. Pour the batter on top of the syrup.
  9. Cover the basin with aluminum foil.
  10. Place in a saucepan with boiling water halfway up the sides.
  11. Steam for about 1 hour.
  12. Serve hot with custard.
