Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 pounds fondant
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool completely before decorating with fondant.
Notes
- Use different colors of fondant for decoration.
- Allow the cake to sit for some time after decorating.
- Store in a cool place to keep the fondant intact.
