Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add cold water and mix until dough forms.
  4. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Spread almond paste in the center of the dough.
  7. Fold dough over almond paste and seal edges.
  8. Shape into a ring and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for icing and drizzle over cooled kringle.
