Description
Almond Kringle is a delicious Danish pastry filled with almond paste and topped with icing.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 cup almond paste
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add cold water and mix until dough forms.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread almond paste in the center of the dough.
- Fold dough over almond paste and seal edges.
- Shape into a ring and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for icing and drizzle over cooled kringle.
Notes
- Let the dough chill for best results.
- Use fresh almond paste for better flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
