A delicious recipe for traditional thumb bars with a fruity filling.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fruit jam of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, butter, sugars, salt, and vanilla until crumbly.
- Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
- Spread the fruit jam evenly over the pressed mixture.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top of the jam.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Try different flavors of jam for variety.
- Serve with tea or coffee.
